Coretan Dari Ayra

Hai, nama saya Ayra. Kadang2 mummy panggil saya 'Ra-Ra'.
Syukur, saya dah pun 14 bulan pada 1 Ramadhan lepas.
Saya sekarang tengah belajar nak makan suap sendiri, tapi kadang2 mummy bebel sebab saya buat sepah.
Tapi mummy tak kisah, sebab sekarang makan je, mesti kena alas supaya tak tumpah teruk.

Sekarang saya dah makin banyak cakap, kadang2 mummy & babah tak faham apa yg saya cuba cakap.
Diorang gelak2 cakap saya macam Minion! Saya tak kisah pun.
Ada certain words yg saya pandai cakap walaupun pelat sikit.
Contohnya, ABANG, KAKAK, ATOK, ADIK, BABY, BIRD, CAT, AIR, MAMAM, SUSU.
Oh ye, sekarang saya dah pandai joget, lompat, bagi flying kiss & salam orang.

Tapi bab makan saya ni susah sikit, kesian mummy kena fikir setiap hari mcm mana nak bg saya makan banyak.
Saya dah start minum Anmum 2 kali kat rumah Mak Zah setiap hari. Tapi bila balik rumah, saya suka mengempeng terus kat mummy. Sebab susu mummy lagi sedap dari Anmum.
Sayang mummy!

Ok bai.

Our 3rd Anniversary

Yesterday marked our 3rd wedding anniversary. We took a day leave, sent Ayra to her babysitter's and went for a date. Just the 2 of us. Had our breakfast at Kluang Rail Coffee (our favorite kopitiam), then went to the mall and purchased 2 movie tickets (Avengers: Age of Ultron). Serius lama tak tengok wayang sejak mengandung lagi. While waiting for the showtime, we headed to Songbox Karaoke. Lama sangat tak asah bakat nyanyian. LOL.

Had lunch at Kenny Rogers. No romantic dinner or whatsoever. Grabbed some picture books for Ayra. Kesian dia, tak dapat ikut. Hehe. The movie was good overall. Still in awe watching the technologies created by Tony Stark. Oh, last weekend we just had a short vacation at Pulai Desaru. Sempena 3rd anniversary. Spent quality time with my family, enjoyed the beach and the seafood.

Thank you husband for being there for me. I know I am not a perfect wife, sebab saya ni degil dan 'gembeng'. But I am trying hard to be one. Love you till Jannah.

When She Turns One

This is a challenging phase. My daughter has turned one. And now she is in learning process. Recently she can throw tantrums. I guess the culprit is 'teething'. She will cry out loud 'macam kena dera' due to the discomfort. Poor baby. Mummy and babah tried to calm her and luckily I found her old pacifier, the one that Ayra used when she was 4 months. I put the pacifier in the fridge for about 10-15 mins just to chill it. And it helps to soothe her swollen gums. Thank God. We finally feel relieved.

At night before bed, I usually let Ayra to have a warm bath in her tub. I use Baby Bedtime Lavender Bath to help her sleep better. I throw her favorite toys and let her indulge herself playing with bubbles and splashing water. Put on her pyjamas, give a mild massage, breastfeed her and finally she falls asleep. My child usually sleeps around 10ish. Since she has started walking and cruising the whole house, I found that her sleep pattern has changed. This is good, because mummy and babah can sleep early too.

The most challenging part is when your child has begun to imitate you. Oh-oh! Make sure you don't use bad words or cursing others in front of your child. They can absorb the information real quick and try to imitate. Normally, when we drop a dry food on your lap or on the table, some of us might blow the food quickly and eat it. Me and husband usually do this. And one fine night, I noticed that Ayra has learnt the same way too. Which is bad for her! My oh my. What do we do now? We must be extra careful and must keep the floor clean. Babies love picking up objects from the floor. Moreover, my child loves ripping up the newspaper, magazines and supermarket catalogues. Then she puts the ripped paper in her mouth. Oh my Ayra!

Untuk Mama

Selamat Hari Ibu, Mama!
Mama adalah ibu terhebat.
Betapa besarnya pengorbanan sebagai seorag ibu.
Baru sekarang Along tahu,

Kau sihatkan mamaku,
Limpahkan rezeki yg baik untuknya,
Sentiasa ukirkan senyuman di bibirnya,
Kau lindungilah dia.

Terima kasih Allah untuk segalanya.
Terima kasih, Mama.
I Love You So Much! (nanti balik rumah, kita pergi celebrate ye!)

Sunday Blues

Kat Johor, tak ada dah istilah 'Monday Blues', sebab dah jadi 'Sunday Blues'. Tak best betul sejak 2014 kena kerja on Sundays. Yelah, Sunday banyak cerita best. Haha. So sindrom hari pertama kerja memang semua macam lemau je, kepala teringat2 rumah.

Hari pertama sure asyik teringat Ayra. Rindu betul. Sebab weekend spent lama masa golek2 dan gelak2 dengan anak. Haihhhh lepas tu mulalah buka folder album ditatapnya gambar dia sejak lahir lagi. Entahlah, aku rasa mak2 lain ada kot macam aku. Husband pun macam aku. Rindu gila kat anak bila hari pertama kerja. Tapi hari lain pun tetap rindu jugak. Hee.

Lagi 2 minggu Ayra nak setahun. Tak taulah nak celebrate macam mana. Hari tu beriya nak buat makan2 panggil family and friends. Tapi bila fikir balik, dia ni kecik lagi, makna birthday party pun dia tak paham, apa lagi nak tiup2 lilin kat kek bagai. So, we decided untuk celebrate among close family je. Including her grandparents. Bila besar sikit barulah syok buat birthday party.

Last Thursday Ayra demam pulak. Aku syak demam teething tu. Sebab anak aku ni kerja dia asyik nak menggigit je lately. Baju aku, lengan aku, peha aku, meja, toys, magazines, semualah. Nasib baik nipple tak digigitnya. Mau meraung aku.

Mata macam babah, hidung & mulut macam mummy. Oh, jajan tu bukan utk dia makan pun, buat main je.

Around the Clock

I don't know if I need to blog about this or not.
You know, life as a mother is not an easy task.
I think I need more than 24 hours per day.
My routine starts at 6.40 am.
After morning bath, I quickly off to the kitchen to blend Ayra's porridge that I let it cooked overnight using a slow cooker. Oh, thanks to whom that invented the cooker.
Ayra will cry and ask for milk (or just want to ngempeng).
I have no other option, so I let her ngempeng sambil baring.
I have to ask husband to change Ayra's diaper meanwhile I get dress.
Off to work, punch in and send Ayra to her babysitter's.
After 5 pm, I fetch Ayra.
Cook porridge for Ayra's dinner.
Prepare for dinner.
After Isya' prayer, I start cooking.
Dinner around 9.45pm (ini dikira lewat ni).
Check Ayra's diaper bag, prepare EBM.
Doze off at 12.30 am.
Breastfeeding goes on and on and on from dusk till the break of dawn.

Err, the next morning, I am hungry like a T-Rex. Haha.

Picky Eater?

I don't know whether to classify my baby as a picky eater or not. She has just started eating solid since 6 months and found out that she loves eating according to her preference. I've tried avocado, carrot, sweet potato, broccoli, banana, pumpkin, pear, apple, rice, papaya, organic oat, dates, spinach, fish.

Food that she say NO:
- broccoli (she vomited it out)
- carrot
- pumpkin
- sweet potato

I guess she dislikes those bottom two sebab ikut babah dia. Shafiq pun tak suka pumpkin dan keledek. Patutlah anak pun ikut jugak. Aku je yg suka labu dan keledek.

Pernah aku buat bubur nasi campur karot pun diketapnya mulut tak nak bukak. Haih. Yang manis bercampur kurma memang jadi favorite Ayra. Haha. Ni macam aku, sebab aku suka kurma.

Mama dah bising suruh bagi Ayra banyak makan bubur nasi, aku manjang bagi dia makan puree je. Dah tu yg senang buat. Sebab aku akan prepare puree untuk 4 hari berdasarkan 4-day rule tu. Bila aku buat bubur nasi + broccoli + tenggiri dia makan sikit je. Bila dia makan sikit, aku lak nak sentap sebab mesti aku masak tak sedap. Bahaha. Ntah ape2 je. Yelah, bubur tu takde rasa kan, sebab baby bawah setahun tak boleh bagi garam, gula tu semua. Even madu pun tak boleh, sebab berisiko kena Botulisme.

Lepas ni aku nak try bagi brown rice, peas, mango and peach. So far, Alhamdulillah dia takde alergik apa2 makanan kecuali yg dia betul2 reject. Fresh fruit pun dia suka. Aku potong banana or papaya, letak dalam clevafeed dan bagi dia gigit-gigit. Kira tu macam teether jugaklah. Ibu2 boleh tengok chart ni baru dapat idea nak masak apa.

Summary: Majlis Aqiqah Raja Ayra

Alhamdulillah, me and husband successfully hosted Aqiqah ceremony and doa selamat for Ayra. It was held on last 18 October at 2.30 pm. At first, we thought of having this event at in law's place but after some circumstances we opted to hold this program in Kluang. Million thanks to mama ayah adik, mak abah angah and issam for their help throughout this event. So, here's a summarized story.

- a few days prior to her aqiqah: we pack the doorgifts for 120 guests + 50 kids, did a spring cleaning, bought 2 large ornamental plants with vases, meet and greet the lamb to be slaughtered, invite a women yassinan group, call for vendors; pelamin, photographer, caterer and canopy, prepared the bunga telur.
- the menu:  laksa johor, sup kambing, ubi rebus with sambal hijau, cakes, bubur pulut hitam, hot and cold drinks
- the pelamin theme: off-white, pink, peach
- attended guests: 100 pax

Overall, we think we did a great job. Lepas ni dah kira lulus untuk buat kenduri tunang anak pulak. Haha. Terima kasih byk2 pada semua tetamu yg hadir. It was awesome even though we had to take a leave the day after sebab penat lenguh sakit badan baq hang!

Wake Up to A Healthy Start

Breakfast is vital for me. I need breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner even supper because I always feel hungry. I am a breastfeeding mother, so I need food and water a lot. My routine for the past few months was going to the cafe and bought nasi goreng, mihun goreng, maggi goreng or kueh teow goreng with fried eggs or tofu. Sometimes when I got lucky, I could have nasi lemak ayam goreng or spaghetti goreng. After all, I just had the same breakfast menu everyday. Time to make a change! Then I came across this, "Overnight Oats". I think it has become a phenomenon a couple of months back. But I just found out this easy peasy recipe a few days ago. Pathetic me! =.="

So, bought some goods from the store and finally last night I managed to make one for me and one for husband.

This is my own version of Overnight Oats with added ESP, lotsa strawberry and kiwi

What u need?
- organic rolled oat or instant oat
- fresh milk
- fresh fruits

Optional:
- honey
- any nuts: walnut, almond, pumpkin seed
- choc syrup or choc chip
- energizing soy protein (ESP)
- yogurt
- peanut butter
- nutella
- ground cinnamon
- nutmeg

Mix the ingredients together and put in the fridge overnight. Best eaten when chilled. It's way healthier and yummy too.  Selamat mencuba!

Rumah Tunggang-langgang

"Rumah tunggang-langgang, tapi kami bahagia". Haha. Itu tagline utk aku yg dah 6 bulan jadi mak. Secara personalnya, bila jadi ibu workload bertambah secara 3x ganda. Rutin aku sebagai mak pun berlaku ketika aku berada di pejabat. Iaitu mengepam susu.

Aku pulak curi2 masa basuh baju & jemur. Kadang2 masuk balik ofis terlewat sikit. Selalunya aku akan solat asar siap2 kat ofis sebab balik kerja aku terus fetch Ayra dan singgah jap beli pisang goreng and such untuk minum petang Shafiq. So,bila balik rumah, terus masukkan EBM dlm peti ais, kemas beg Ayra untuk esok dan buat air utk minum petang. Fuhhh masa ni baru dapat bergelak2 dgn Ayra.

Tapi kan, habit aku korang tau kan, malas lipat kain. Akibatnya, basket aku pun menggunung kalah Gunung Kinabalu. Huu, itulah yg aku maksudkan tunggang-langgang. Yang jadi kepelikan ialah aku basuh baju every other day, tapi baju dalam bakul kotor macam makin banyak pulak. Shafiq pun rasa macam tu. Misteri sungguh!

Apa2 pun aku nak kena ajak Shafiq marathon melipat baju weekend ni. Haha. Tapi si Ayra my little helper yg 'rajin' mengemas. Siaplah kalau nampak suratkhabar or tisu habis dikerjakan dia. Anak aku ni aku punyalah belikan banyak toys tapi yg dia suka main ialah kertas, botol dan plastik. Pendek kata barang2 yg recyclable ni jadi favorite Ayra. =.="

Bila malam je kitorang akan gilir2 solat utk jaga Ayra sebab dia sekarang makin lasak. Sejak dah pandai roll over dan mengensot, kepungan atau benteng terpaksa diperhebat. Haha. Ayat BM aku tak boleh blah. Bantal kepung katil kena letak tinggi2. Lagi 1, mood Ayra ni cepat berubah 360 deg. Bila nak main gelak2 gurau2 Babah can handle, tapi bila dah ngantuk dan nak susu terus Mummy yg handle. Ayra bila ngantuk, nak direct feeding sambil baring kat katil. Banyak kali jugak aku pun tertidur sama. Sedar2 dah kul 2 pagi, terus aku bangun untuk solat Isyak dan kemas2 sikit.

Oh, lupa nak cerita yg Ayra dah start solid. Current weight is 7.2kg at 6.5 months old. Hobi: koyak kertas, main ketuk2 botol kosong dan mengempeng sampai tertidur.

Tenangnya tengok anak tidur. Thank u Allah for this precious gift.

Ayra's Birth Chronology

Alhamdulillah, dah 2 bulan bergelar ibu. I miss my pregnancy journey and it was such a wonderful experience. Ok, my due date was 18 April 2014, 40 weeks to be exact. I was hoping to give birth a week earlier so that my youngest sister would have enough time to babysit her niece at my mum's.

But I only felt Braxton Hicks a week before my due date. The sensation was irregular and mild. I told myself, "Bilalah nak datang sakit nak bersalin ni?".

To cut it short, on 16 April 2014 evening, i felt a few mild cramps, but they were irregular and were gone below 1 min. I was like, "Ah, they were just Braxton Hicks!". I still could bear the pain. Around 1 in the morning, I started to feel frequent cramps. I told DH to send me to the hospital early in the morning. I asked him to sleep well. But my pain was getting intense but still bearable. That whole night, I couldn't sleep. "I think the baby will pop out pretty soon!".

To fade away the pain, I went to my kitchen and cleaned some mess, swept the floor. And started to get my hospital bags ready. I tried to take cat nap because I was so tired and sleepy. At last, I felt asleep with the pain.

Around 6 am, I took my shower, performed Subuh prayer and recited Surah Maryam. But the pain was unbearable and became more frequent. I woke DH up and asked him to get ready. He also made me a mug of warm milo for energy.

We left our house for the hospital at 7.45am on 17 April. After registration at Dewan Bersalin, a nurse checked my baby's heart rate through CTG. When the contraction came, I just closed my eyes and recited Doa Nabi Yunus. I knew the time has come. The nurse did VE and I was 1cm dilated.

After an hour, a young female Dr did an ultrasound. She told me that my baby could weigh 3.6-3.8kg. And she considered as a big baby case. She also mentioned about having csect because of 'the big baby' plus this was my 1st pregnancy and it was quite risky. My heart was going to explode. I wasn't prepare for any major operation. I wanted a vaginal birth. The Dr from Klinik Kesihatan said my baby weighed below 3 kg. I was upset and speechless.

She asked me to stay at home until the contraction became more frequent and regular. The worst part was I threw up when the contractions came. In short, I was dehydrated. Then, we rushed to the hospital and finally I got admitted.

I couldn't bear the contraction. I asked for pain killers. A nurse gave me a jab but the pain wasn't subside. I was given IV drip to stay hydrated.

That night I asked for another pain killer jab. Ya Allah, the pain was unbearable. I wanted this child to pop out real soon. I also asked the nurses to do VE. At last, around 1230am, 18 April 2014, i was 5 cm dilated. Then, I was rushed to the labour room. Called DH to wait me there and get ready for the delivery.

At 530am, I was 6cm dilated but there was an urge to push the baby out. A young indian female Dr kept reminding me, "Don't push the baby out, wait until 10cm dilated.". She broke my waterbag to speed up the dilation rate. But the progress was pretty slow. I couldn't bear the urge. When the urge came, I had to pull and hold it back. The pain was getting worse, I asked for entonox and epidural.

Sadly, the Dr couldn't cater that because 1) entonox will keep me unsober and 'stoned'. 2) epidural can be requested during working hours 8am-5pm. The Dr said they will send me for emergency c-sect if my dilation progress is poor and she asked me to wait and bear the pain until 8am. I requested for the c-sect to be done soon and I didn't want to wait until 8am. Plus it was a 'big baby case'.

After getting a consensus from DH, they rushed me to the OT. Alhamdulillah, finally at 6.32 am on 18 April 2014, Raja Ayra bt. Raja Shafiq Mukri was born. She weighed 3.3kg. And they classified my case as,  LSCS for suspected big baby. I felt so relieved as long as my baby is safe and healthy.

Everything was fine, I was discharged on 20 April 2014. Alhamdulillah, now my career as a mother has just begun. May the force be with me always.
